A Mother's Heart...

I felt like writing a quick poem...I hope you enjoy it..

A mother's heart always feels

a love for her children that is real

A mother's heart for her children always beats

and gets excited when she hears the patter of little feet

A mother's heart will beat so true

like the first time she hears her child say mama or I love you

A mother's heart is filled with so much joy that will last

it will carry you through your future, present and past

A mother's heart is so strong but yet can be easily broken

when she watches her child do foolish things unspoken

A mother's heart is the best place to be

Because a mother's love for her children goes beyond eternity

Chapter 5: Respect and Accountability

These are the two must haves as a single parent. The respect of your child is so important it will determine how your son will interact with you. Here are two things you can expect if your child respects you...1)no back-talk and 2) listening and doing what you say. In this chapter I stress how important respect is, kids nowadays are taught that adults have to earn respect and I believe that's why most children are disrespectful. When I was growing up I was taught to respect my elders not if they earned it but just because they were adults.

I also talk about accountability as a parent. Basically you are helping your son to understand there are consequences for his actions good or bad. As a mother we want to believe our child is the best, but when they are wrong you should not make excuses for their behavior.
